Phonics is effective in raising a child's phonemic awareness. Every word is
made up of individual components which can be sounded out. These are
known as phonemes. Blending of sounds and letters are called phonics.
It encourages children to recognize text fluently by teaching them certain
specific language rules relating to the pronunciation of words and how
they are represented in a written form. As these rules are learnt it results
in an ever expanding vocabulary. Children develop the ability to recognize
